Saint Christian Demosthenes was a reluctant priest due to feelings of unworthiness but eventually became bishop. He is remembered for staunchly opposing Arianism and bringing many Arians back to orthodoxy. After his term as bishop, St. Christian Demosthenes committed himself to writing vast amounts of theological discourse as well as poetic pieces. He is a Doctor of the Church and his feast day is January 2nd.
