Saint Elias del Socorro Nieves is the patron of Mexico. He was sickly as a child and was not expected to survive but managed and was ordained into the priesthood at the age of 22. During government persecution of the church he served his parish at night. Saint Elias del Socorro Nieves was eventually caught and martyred on the side of the road by soldiers. St. Elias del Socorro Nieves feast day is March 10th.
