St. Francis de Sales

St. Francis de Sales dedicated himself to the conversion of Protestants back to the Holy Catholic Church. As Bishop of Geneva, St. Francis de Sales was known as a friend to the poor and as a charismatic preacher. St. Francis de Sales was beatified in 1661 by Pope Alexander VII and later named a Doctor of the Church in 1877 by Pope Pius IX. St. Francis de Sales is the Patron Saint of writers and journalist due to the many influential books he wrote.
