Round St. Gabriel Medal, with inscribed beveled borders, with shiny, flat back, made of 14K Yellow Gold. The size, in millimeters, is 18.00 MM.

Though there are probably billions of angels, and even different “choirs” of angels (generally numbered at nine – angels, archangels, cherubim, seraphim, etc.) there are only three angels in the Bible who are given proper names: Michael, Raphael and Gabriel. Gabriels’s name means "God is my strength". He is mentioned three times in Scripture as a messenger: he explained a vision of Jesus to Daniel; he told Zachary about the birth of his son, St. John the Baptist; and he also told Mary that she was pregnant with Jesus. In this latter mission – clearly his greatest – it can be said that he, under direction from almighty God, changed the name of the Virgin, greeting her, literally, “hail, perfected in grace one” (in Greek: chaire, kecharitomene), or more commonly translated “hail, full of grace.” St. Gabriel is the patron of postal, radio, and telephone workers; his feast is celebrated on September 29. © 2006
