St. John Fisher
Saint John Fisher is the patron of the diocese of Rochester, New York. He spent most of his life in an attempt to raise the standard of preaching in his see. Saint John Fisher is most famous, however, for rejecting King Henry VIII's claim to be the head of the Church in England. This resulted in his imprisonment and martyrdom. St. John Fisher's feast day is June 22nd.
