Saint Louis Betrand is the patron of Colombia, Dominican novices, and Caribbean vicariates. He was a powerful speaker and spent 30 years as the Master of novices for the Dominican Order. Saint Louis Betrand is remembered for his mission work in the Caribbean in which he survived poisoning attacks by shamans and converted over 15,000 people. Many remember him for miraculous cures and many prophecies. St. Louis Betrand's feast day is October 9th.
