St. Meinrad
Saint Meinrad is the patron of hospitality and Swabia, Germany. He was a monk who withdrew to live as a hermit in 829 but due to his holiness and wisdom, he attracted numerous visitors and would-be students. Saint Meinrad entertained two travelers who turned out to be thieves. When the thieves discovered that he was a hermit with nothing worth stealing, they attacked and brutally murdered him. Saint Meinrad's feast day is January 21st.
