St. Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland, was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. After six years he escaped and studied to be a priest. After being ordained a bishop, Pope Saint Celestine sent him to England and Ireland where he was instrumental in converting the population to Christianity.

This St. Patrick statue was received with much anticipation, since his feast day was near. We thought that the statue did justice to the Great Saint himself. We have it displayed proudly in our home. It is quite exquisite.
