This gorgeous St. Patrick Pewter Chalice makes a unique ordination gift or anniversary gift. Made of the highest quality pewter, the chalice shows four separate images of St. Patrick around the cup. The first image shows St. Patrick being kidnapped from France and being brought to Ireland. The second pictures shows a young Patrick praying in the fields while shepherding his sheep. The third picture shows St. Patrick returning to Ireland on a boat after he became a Bishop. The last picture shows St. Patrick casting the snakes out of Ireland. Measures 8"H. The early history of pewter in Ireland goes back at least 800 years. It was revived in 1974 by Mullingar Pewter. Most of the pieces are still made in the traditional way in a workshop with Irish men and women specially trained in the old casting methods, meticulous assembly and delicate hand finishing.
