This beautiful St. Sebastian statue was delicately handcrafted by a family of artisans in the hills outside of Lucca, Italy. St. Sebastian is the patron saint of athletes, and soldiers as well, because of his physical endurance and his energetic way of spreading the faith. He is most often portrayed with arrows in his body, which he survived and then went on to denounce the persecution of Christians before being beaten to death on orders of the Emperor. This lovely statue measures 12 inches and is made of resin. Makes a wonderful gift for an athlete.
