This unique St. Sophia patron saint medal was hand carved and cast in lead-free pewter by an American artisan from Mississippi. The name Sophia means “wisdom.” According to legend, Sophia had three daughters: Faith, Hope, and Charity. One side of this pendant has an image of Sophia, holding a book (wisdom). The other side has an image of her daughter Hope, holding a globe (symbol of the future/possibilities). On one outer side is the word “Wisdom,” on the other the word “Hope.” The interchange between the two figures sheds light on many real-life mother-daughter relations: Wisdom speaks from experience while Hope speaks from youthfulness and anticipation, the two coming together in a harmony. This medal comes with a small saint card, making this great to give as a gift.
