It makes me wonder if it actually is Sterling silver. I always thought things were marked if they were sterling. Company response: Most items are marked if they are sterling silver, we have checked this Crucifix in our warehouse and it has "STER" on the back towards the top. We would be happy to exchange this if you are concerned about it being sterling silver.
