The Virgin of the Lilies by Bouguereau comes framed in an ornate gold frame. It measures 17x22". Adolphe-William Bouguereau was a famous portrait artist born in La Rochelle France on November 30,1825. He followed the classical style of 16th century painters such as Raphael. Bouguereau painted for a number of Catholic Churches throughout the latter 1800s. He died in 1905.
