Product Description

In a world torn apart by persecution, war and oppression, 3 children in Fatima, Portugal were chosen by God to offer an urgent message of hope to the world. Based on the memoirs of the oldest seer, Lucia Santos, and many thousands of independent eye-witness accounts, The 13th Day dramatizes the true story of three young shepherds who experienced six apparitions of Our Lady between May and October 1917, which culminated in the final prophesied Miracle of the Sun on October 13th. Abducted from their homes, thrown into prison and interrogated under the threat of death in the government’s attempt to silence them, the children remained true to their story about the crucial messages from Mary of prayer, repentance and conversion for the world.

Our Lady gave a secret to the children told in three parts, from a harrowing vision of hell, to prophetic warnings of future events including the advent and timing of the Second World War, the spread of communism, and the attempted assassination of the Pope.

Stylistically beautiful and technically innovative, the film uses state-of-the-art digital effects to create stunning images of the visions and the final miracle that have never before been fully realized on screen. Shot on location in Portugal and in the UK, the film has a cast of hundreds to re-create the scenes of the 70,000 strong crowds, with 3 young Portuguese actors play the iconic roles of the Seers.

Witness the greatest miracle of the 20th Century, and experience the incredible, emotionally-charged and harrowing world of three young children whose choice to remain loyal to their beliefs, even in the face of death, would inspire thousands.

Filmed in High Definition with Dolby Surround Sound. Stars Jane Lesley, Michael D’Cruze, Filipa Fernandes and Tarek Merlin.

"The 13th Day is the best film ever made about Fatima — the most beautiful and effective, as well as one of the most historically accurate. Sister Lucia's memories are imbued with an aura of reverie and contemplation by striking visuals, an effective score and a stark, simple narrative. A fact-based film that succeeds in being both artful and reverent is a rare thing. The 13th Day succeeds."
—Steve Greydanus

Pope Benedict XVI has said, "Learn the message of Fatima! Live the message of Fatima! Spread the message of Fatima!" I have reviewed the film a number of times. It is a powerful presentation of the events surrounding Our Lady's apparitions. It especially shows the sufferings that the three little shepherd children, suffered as God's messengers of Our Lady's peace plan from Heaven. It combines a certain dramatic intensity with an attractive and innovative artistic presentation. The result is a moving appeal to heed Mary's message which is so important for our times. The courage seen in the three young visionaries in this film is very striking and will certainly have an impact on many viewers. I believe this film will assist the cause of the world's peace and the salvation of souls."

Fatima Story

Review: Nicely done story of the children of Fatima. It covers most of the apparitions and the response of the bishop, the town's people and the magistrate.

The 13th Day

Review: Very cold, bleak movie. Has none of the warmth, love and charm of the 1952 Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima film. If this is what is called "Art" you can keep it. Not a family movie at all; we were so disappointed.

My Favorite Fatima Movie

Review: I can't recall where I got my DVD as I got it as soon as it came out, but I have seen every Fatima DVD and movie and this had the greatest impact on me. I have shared it with other people and even bought a few as gifts and everyone loved it. It is not like the older movie because it does assume you know a lot about the apparitions of Fatima, but the scenes especially of Our Lady and the miracle of the sun are truly beautiful! If you know a lot about Fatima, this will add to your knowledge.

The 13th Day

Review: This movie was poorly directed. My children did not enjoy it. I loved the old Fatima movie and was very disappointed with this one. This one is very dark.

Watch before showing it to children

Review: While this movie was beautiful, I felt that it left out some of the more important messages of Fatima. It is more of a documentary. It also scared my children, so much so that my 5 year old wouldn't go to sleep in his own bed for a month, and even my 7 and 9 year olds were disturbed. I suggest pre-viewing it before letting your kids see it.

The 13th Day

Review: Well done story of Fatima. Showed it to our grandchildren ages 3-9 as a conversation starter. They asked many questions during the film so we explained them and will show it again in the future. (They did question why it was not in color, but accepted that color movies were not around 100 years ago.)

Review: The acting is stellar. The story is unreal and it is true. It's an educational truth that needs to be told and heard time and time again. If we do not get our acts together, we're in trouble. This is the best movie and work of art I have purchased so far from Ignatius Press.

the (dvd) miracles of fatima

Review: A remarkable DVD on the real story of the 3 young sheperds from Fatima.Portugal and final event of Sun Miracle a real astronomical phenomena detected by astronomers from worldwide that date early 20th century decade. A film to remember forever on our hearts and minds as a realistic evidence of the divine power of Lady of Fatima envoyer of God that I modestly call the Eternum for all skeptics or men and women of FAITH in all times of Mankind History.. Congratulations to the direcctor and staff and actors that performed one of the most increadables reproduction of this historical event of all times in Portugal early 20th century. THE MIRACLE OF FATIMA God bless you all..

The 13th Day - The full story

Review: The simplicity of the story and acting, plus the locale, adds to the impact of the message - no big Hollywood production here, just the facts, but presented with charm. Best Uses: great gift; Pros: Captures essential story

13th day

Review: It is one of the best religious films I have seen. it touch me so much I cried. Pros: good color, Great, Very Deep

Great story that will change your life.

Review: I thought it was a great true story and for the most part made well. It is both sad and inspirational. The things that happened in this movie blow things that happen in fictional stories away. This miracle was seen by 70,000 people, whom I am sure had diaries and journals for historical evidence. There are also government reports of those who seen it within a 50 mile radius. This movie shows that there are no limits to the power of God. Best Uses: inspirational; Cons: none; Pros: Real life inspiration

An Inspiring Movie

Review: I will use this movie for a family night showing after the Knights of Columbus meeting. Best Uses: Family Night Showing

Review: LOVED this movie! My 9 year old got a little concerned at some of the more serious parts but enjoyed it and prompted many questions. My teen loved it as well. It is a "short" movie...less than 2 hours so I think it would be perfect for a Rel Ed class followed by discussion and rosary. Best Uses: Tweens teens and older; Pros: Great Cinematography, Heartfelt and compelling

An increase in faith. . .

Review: Good production of movie and use of black and white with color emphasizing the most faith-filled sequences. Best Uses: Good viewing for teens; Pros: Goes deeper into faith, Than the original movie

This is a wonderful film! Beautiful!
