Crosses

In St. Paul’s letter to the Galatians he states, “With Christ I am nailed to the cross.” The Cross has become a universally recognized symbol of the Christian Faith and is a visual reminder of the Passion and Death of our Lord Jesus Christ. As Catholics we are called to venerate the holy cross twice a year: on Good Friday and on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross on September 14th. A traditional hymn calls us to action: “Behold the wood of the cross on which was hung our Salvation. O come, let us adore.” When we wear a cross necklace or cross pendant we are testifying to all our faith in Christ.
