  • An Exorcist Tells His Story
  • Author: Fr. Gabriele Amorth
  • Thoroughly and concisely discusses the topic of exorcism

In this powerful book, An Exorcist Tells His Story, Fr. Gabriele Amorth, the renowned chief exorcist of Rome, tells of his many experiences in his ministry as an exorcist doing battle with Satan to relieve the great suffering of many people in the grip of evil. The importance of this ministry to “expel demons” is clearly seen from the Gospels, from the actions of the Apostles, and from Church history.

In this rare and exciting account, Father Amorth allows us to witness the activities of the exorcist, and experience what an exorcist sees and does. He shows how real and powerful the devil is and how his wicked and evil influence is so prevalent today in many people’s lives. He also reveals how modern science, psychology and medicine can do little to help those under Satan’s influence and that only the power of Christ can release them from their mental, spiritual or physical suffering.

    An Exorcist Tells His Story

I'm not sure what to make of this book. Father Amorth believes exorcisms are necessary but writes that the church no longer allows them. His presentation is clear and easy to understand. I am glad I read it and trust that our church fathers will lead us in the right direction.

    An eye-opening reading

I purchased the audio book and decided I wanted the hard copy for reference, so purchased it afterward. The many biblical references are quite useful. However, its true value lies in distinguishing what is, and is not, possession so as to dispel myths. By the end of the book, a listener has a clear idea. The real-life stories he relates are meaningful. Best Uses: Reference; Describe Yourself: Casual Reader; Pros: Deserves Multiple Readings, Well Written

I picked up this book because I wanted to know more about exorcism and now I'm glad I did. We hardly hear about exorcisms today and it such a shame because it is a ministry that is very much needed in the world today. It a great read which shows you the things that an exorcist goes through. It's a great book! Best Uses: Gift, Reference, Younger Readers; Cons: A Bit Slow; Describe Yourself: Bookworm; Pros: Easy To Read, Engaging characters, Informative
