Product Description

“To say the Holy Rosary,” says St. Josemaría in this pocket book of meditations on the mysteries of the Rosary, “is a continuous act of faith, hope and love, of adoration and reparation.” He reveals the secret of overcoming monotony and routine when praying the Rosary, and portrays each Mystery with illuminating eyes of faith — helping you become absorbed in contemplation when you pray to Our Lady. This handsome book is small enough to carry with you everywhere and use whenever you have a moment to spend with Our Lady. The new Mysteries of Light are included in this edition.

A great little book for meditations

Review: This compact little book is surprisingly helpful in praying the rosary more fruitfully. Each mystery has insightful words to focus meditations on the lives of our Lord and Lady, a well-done illustration, and at the end, there is even the Litany of Loreto (or Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary) in Latin and English. I highly recommend it to anyone for personal use or as a gift. I am a bit disappointed that chapters for the Luminous Mysteries were added even though they were not in the original work written by St. Josemaria in 1931. Although John Paul II offered them as optional meditations in 2002, the Luminous Mysteries seem to have become the de facto rule. In my humble opinion, I feel they disrupt the symbolism of the rosary as Mary's Psalter. This is a minor complaint, though, for an otherwise great little piece. Best Uses: Gift, Older Readers, Reference, Travel Reading, Younger Readers; Cons: Disappointing; Describe Yourself: Everyday Reader; Pros: Deserves Multiple Readings, Easy To Read, Engaging characters, Informative, Page-Turner, Well Written
