    Excellent Study Bible

I am using this Bible for Pastor-directed, as well as self-guided, study. I have approximately a dozen Bibles, and this one is definitely the best in that the annotations answer many questions that would otherwise require extraneous research. The explanations are logical, easy to follow and in a print size that doesn't strain the eyes. The annotations, of course, do not answer all questions, as e.g., I found no discussion of the difference between the Nativity accounts of Matthew and Luke and how one can reconcile the Holy Family's trip to Egypt with the presentation of Jesus at the Temple in Jerusalem after the 40 days of Mary's confinement. This is a minor criticism as all matters cannot be covered in limited space. I plan to give copies of this Bible as Christmas gifts to special people. Obviously, I am well pleased with it. Best Uses: Excellent for all uses; Cons: Some Issues Not Covered; Pros: Great Introductions, Logical Easy-to-Follow, Most Thorough Annotations

The Ignatius New Testament Study Bible

This book is one of the best I have ever seen. Its attractive blue leather cover is wonderful. I like the larger than usual <a class="autolink" href="http://www.catholiccompany.com/catholic-bibles-c464/">Bible</a> size, and the printed page is easy to read. The footnotes provide valuable information as usual. The history provided at the beginning of each book provides valuable information that allows me to be more in touch with the period of the writing and other information that usually is absent in the other copies of the Ignatius Bible and New Testament which I bought. I also appreciate the ribbon markers that are part of this edition. The Ignatius Bible is my favorite, and the study edition allows personal or group study to be more complete.

    Exceeds Expectations!

The print in this <a class="autolink" href="http://www.catholiccompany.com/catholic-bibles-c464/">bible</a> is larger than that of the individual paperback booklets that have been published over the years. I got the hardcover edition, just because I do a lot of highlighting, and it's easier with hard-covered books. This is sure to become the standard-bearer of Catholic <a class="autolink" href="http://www.catholiccompany.com/bible-studies-c828/">study bibles</a>. It's outstanding! Best Uses: Apologetics, For understanding Word, General Bible study, Individual or group; Cons: Binding may wear out, No tabs, NT only, Some sans-serif fonts; Pros: A scriptural masterpiece, Easy to navigate, Great map section, Meticulously concised, Painstakingly detailed, Unbelievably explained
