St. Patrick's Day

Each year on March 17th we celebrate the feast of St. Patrick, the famous 4th century missionary bishop and patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick and his contemporaries converted the ancient Irish pagans to the Christian faith with great effectiveness, for which he is known as the "Apostle of Ireland." His evangelistic zeal and holiness ensured that Ireland would maintain a strong Catholic heritage and identity for centuries, down to the present day.
