This Saint Philomena scapular features an image of the saint on one side along with a colorful depiction of St. Philomena, The Venerable Pauline Jaricot, and Saint John Vianney on the other side. A popular sacramental favored by Catholics worldwide, the devotion dates back to when the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to St. Simon Stock, Superior General of the Carmelite Order, on July 16, 1251, and in her hand she held the "Garment of Grace", which we know as the Brown Scapular, and She gave this promise: "Take this Scapular, it shall be a Sign of Salvation, a Protection in Danger and a Pledge of Peace. Whosoever dies wearing this Scapular shall not suffer eternal fire." - Promise of Our Lady made July 16, 1251 to Saint Simon Stock. Includes both the medal cross of St. Benedict and a small crucifix.

    The Wonder Saint

This scapular - St Philomena - means a lot to me as I found her in surreal circumstances and I would never have known she existed otherwise. The scapular is beautiful and the red and white has a meaning all of its own.
