St. Patrick

Saint Patrick is the patron of Ireland, engineers, Nigeria, and the archdiocese of Norwich, Connecticut. He was captured into slavery at the age of 16 in Britain. Saint Patrick, as a slave in Ireland, worked as a shepherd until a dream told him to return to Britain. Upon returning to Britain, he studied at numerous monasteries and became a bishop. Saint Patrick devoted the next 33 years of his life to converting Ireland which became known in the Middle Ages as the Land of Saints. St. Patrick's feast day is March 17th.
