St. Anthony of Padua

St. Anthony began his religious life as an Augustinian, but later joined the Franciscans in hopes of becoming a martyr for Christ. St. Anthony of Padua was a miracle worker, and was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1946 by Pope Pius XII. St. Anthony is known as Patron of the elderly, fishermen, and the poor, as well as the finder of lost articles. His feast day is celebrated on June 13.
