- Beautiful resin statue of St. Bernadette
- Handpainted in Lucca, Italy by a family of artisans
- Lovely old world colors
- A great gift for someone with a devotion to St. Bernadette
On a recent buying trip to Italy, we found these lovely old-world statues of the catholic saints. Nestled in the hills above Lucca, Italy, the Pelligrini family of artisans meticulously molds and handpaints each individual statue in stunning likeness. Made of resin, this statue of St. Bernadette is durable and long-lasting. St. Bernadette is known as the patron saint of sickness, poverty, and illness. As a young girl, Bernadette Soubirous was very sick, but she never complained, and she lived a very humble life. At age 14, Bernadette had 18 visions of the Blessed Lady in a grotto in the outskirts of Lourdes. Although doubted at the time, she was later canonized by the Catholic Church. Lourdes has become one of the most popular locations of religious pilgrimage. This 9" statue of St. Bernadette is perfect to place in a nook, or on a shelf or desk at home, in the office, or in your local parish. Also makes a wonderful gift.
