St. Daniel

Daniel is the Old Testament prophet whose stories we read in the Book of Daniel. God was with Daniel and he was able to interpret dreams, even of the elite. His skills won him favor, and he soon became prominent in the court of King Nebuchadnezzar. Later, jealous officials try to get rid of Daniel by making it illegal to worship God. Daniel continued in his devotion and was thrown into the lion den. He is spared from certain death when an angel appears and shuts the lion's mouth. His feast day is July 21.
