Saint Eustachius is the patron of hunters, firefighters, torture victims, and trappers. He was initially a pagan Roman general but after a hunting trip in which he saw a crucifix between the antlers of a stag, he converted as did his entire family. He was then removed from his family and wealth once word reached Roman officials of his conversion. Saint Eustachius was then called back to duty to help repel barbarians from Rome which allowed him to be temporarily reunited with his family, however, he refused to celebrate by sacrificing to pagan idols which resulted in him and his family being burned alive in a bronze bull. St. Eustachius's feast day is September 20th.
