St. Felicity

Saint Felicity of Rome (second century A.D) is the patron saint of martyrs, widows, and all mothers with sons. Through their evangelism, she and her seven sons were targeted by emperor Antonius Pius as enemies of the state and labeled as extreme threats to the power to the emperor. Because of this, each of her sons was systematically murdered for his faith before her very eyes. After each beheading, the Roman officials asked her to denounce her faith. Each time, she refused. Her unwavering courage came from her great faith that she would be with her sons, along with their heavenly father, together in eternity. After enduring these deaths, Saint Felicity herself was beheaded, and she joined her sons as a martyr of the church. St. Felicity of Rome's feast day is November 23rd.
