St. Fidelis of Sigmaringen

St. Fidelis of Sigmaringen was born in Germany. A lawyer by trade, Fidelis went from tutoring aristocrats to defending the poor. In 1612, he became a Franciscan Capuchin monk. He was martyred while on mission to Switzerland by Protestants who thought he was a spy for the Austrian emperor.
