St. Isabella of Porugal

Saint Isabella of Portugal is the patron of peace, queens, brides, victims of adultery, and falsely accused people. She was a princess married at age 12 to the King of Portugal at the time, King Diniz. The King was very immoral and frequent adulterer and abuser. This led Saint Isabella of Portugal to pray fervently for his conversion which occurred late in his life at the eve of his death. She was notorious for negotiating peace between her son, whom attempted to lead a revolution against his father, and her husband in order to prevent bloodshed. St. Isabella of Portugal's feast day is July 4th.
