St. Isaac Jogues

Saint Isaac Jogues is the patron of the Americas and Canada. He was a Jesuit missionary to Canada which was rough as the natives blamed the missionaries for any disease. Saint Isaac Jogues was eventually captured, tortured, and mutilated by the Mohawks. He continued to preach the Faith despite enslavement and was able to escape after over a year with the help of Dutch settlers. Unfortunately the Iroquois tribe blamed Christian sorcery for crop failure and attacked the settlers which resulted in Saint Isaac Jogues being tomahawked in the head. St. Isaac Jogues's feast day is October 19th.
