St. John of Capistrano

Saint John of Capistrano is the patron of judges, military chaplains, and jurists. He was imprisoned while trying to negotiate a peace treaty which resulted in him realizing his vocation as a Franciscan monk. Saint John of Capistrano then worked tirelessly to form Franciscan renewal communities through his powerful preaching. St. John of Capistrano was well-known for healing by making the Sign of the Cross and leading a crusade. St. John of Capistrano's feast day is October 23rd.
