St. Martin of Tours

Saint Martin of Tours is the patron saint of cavalry, innkeepers, geese, horse men, and beggars. He was born into a pagan family but was baptized at the age of 18. Early in his life, while serving as an imperial officer, Saint Martin of Tours encountered a beggar and cut his heavy officer cloak in half and gave half to the beggar. Later in life he became the bishop of Tours and adopted the life of a hermit. St. Martin of Tours' feast day is November 11th.
