St. Raymond Nonnatus

Saint Raymond is the patron of children, childbirth, pregnant women, infants, and midwives. He was a Mercedarian priest whom ransomed Christians from Muslim captors. St. Raymond was eventually captured by the Muslims and tortured in imprisonment. While imprisoned he converted numerous guards and therefore his captors created a hole through his lips with a large iron and attached a padlock to it. St. Raymond's feast day is August 31st.
