St. Rosalia

Saint Rosalia is the patron of Palermo, Sicily and Sicily, Italy. Tradition holds that St. Rosalia was led by two angels to a cave where she would spend the rest of her life in prayer and works of penance through her devotion to Jesus Christ. During a plague in Palermo, her relics were discovered in the cave by a hunter who then paraded them in the city which resulted in effectively ending the plague. St. Rosalia is credited with saving the city. St. Rosalia's feast day is September 4th.
