Saint Zachary was pope during the 8th century. St. Zachary is well-known for purchasing Catholic slaves from a Venetian merchant in order that Catholics would not be the slaves of Moors in Spain. He favored the clergy and poor of Rome very much so that he risked his life for them on numerous occasions during the rebellion of the Dukes of Spoleto. St. Zachary's feast day is March 15th.
