New Testament Catholic Bible Study

Testament (testamentum in Latin) means covenant. When Jesus came to teach us how we should live, He brought us the "New Testament", the union He established between God and the world. This was meant to be different than the covenant of the "Old Testament" of Moses' time. Our current use of the word testament refers to the collection of books, or sacred texts, which contain our salvation history -- the doctrine of the "old" and "new" covenants with God. There are many Bible studies that help us to better understand these covenants, many of which delve into one specific book of the Old Testament or New Testament. Different Bible translations, such as the New American Bible (NAB), are available to assist us in our Bible study.
