    The New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE)accomplishes three major goals in Biblical scholarship: First, a more accurate translation aided by modern archeological and historical discoveries; second, a more consistent rendering of the Greek and Hebrew to more closely express the meaning of the original text; and third, revisions in the NABRE reflect changes in modern English usage of particular words (ex. "burnt offering" substituted for "holocaust").

    I bought this bible because it is the new revision, and my old bible is 25 years old. Since my old one has yellowed pages, reading the new one with white pages and a nice font size is enjoyable. For the price, it is a very good deal and beautiful too.

    Bought this bible because it was the new revised version and my current bible is 25 years old. My bible had yellowed pages so when I received the new one and the pages are white with an easy to read font, I was happy. It is also a good price.

    I am using this softcover Revised Edition of the NAB as an easy-to-carry reference for a book study (the book has many Biblical references), as well as for personal reading and formal Bible study. I appreciate the included cross-references and footnotes. The print is clear, making it fairly easy to read, even with my poor vision. I'm sure I could think of several items that could be added to the book, however, each would increase its size and weight, which would make it unwieldy.

    The wording of the new bible is more in line with current English usage. I enjoyed the new translation especially the 23 Psalm. It is hard for me to read it without a magnifying glass but it is worth the effort. I am looking forward to using the text at Mass.

    The New American Bible revised edition is a treasure to own. The font chosen makes reading the Bible even more enjoyable than before. The words of Jesus are in RED so the words stand out from those who wrote and authored the books. I love the common Catholic Prayers in the back of the book as well as the succession of Pope's since our 1st Pope Peter. I have owned no less than five bibles in my lifetime and of those five bibles I am most impressed with this NAB revised edition.
