The Conclave is one of the holiest moments in the Church—when the Cardinals enter prayerful seclusion to choose the next Pope. This process is far more than a human election; it is a part of Christ’s direct lineage through the Seat of St. Peter and it is guided by the Holy Spirit. We truly believe that God Himself leads this process. Yet, in His humility, He does not do so apart from the prayers of His people. As lay Catholics, we are not spectators—we are intercessors. Our prayers are not only welcome; they are needed. In these days of discernment and decision, let us call down the fire of the Holy Spirit upon the Cardinals, that they may choose the Shepherd the Church needs for this time. This is our duty as Catholics–it is our mission.
