The Douay-Rheims Version of the Holy Bible, translated between the years 1582 and 1610 and revised by Bishop Richard Challoner from 1749-1752, is the most accurate English translation of the Bible available today. It was the only Catholic translation of Scripture commonly in use for over 200 years and we maintain that it is still the best and safest version of the Bible in English. Translated with profound respect for every word, the beautiful style of the Douay-Rheims Bible will instill in the reader a deeper understanding of the Word of God. Annotations, references and an historical and chronological index make it convenient for study as well as meditation.

It has been a desire of mine to own a Douay's version of the Bible and and so happy to have this one. I do need to use a magnifying glass and would have spent a few extra dollars for large print if I had remembered how small regular print can be! Nevertheless, it is good for comparing readings.

    good price / quality

The sample page *on this site* makes the print look unreadable. Au contraire: the actual quality of print is _better than expected_ vis-a-vis the price of this item. For those with poor eyesight, only the INDEX section would require the use of correct Cons: Illustrations look cheap; Pros: Good quality paper, Highest quality printing, Printed in Canada
