"Outstanding. I hope to learn a lot from this book!"
"Very excited about this book."
"A wonderful resource."
"Finally, an Old Testament Commentary with profound Catholic Orthodoxy, including the 46 books as it has been since the canon was established back in the 4th Century. Although I'm still reading, I have yet to find a hidden agenda. No secular or anti-Catholic bias within the pages of this large, beautiful, and hefty hardcover volume. One of the reasons why I've stayed away from The Jerome Biblical Commentary for example, which is targeted to a more academic, not necessarily a Catholic Christian audience; basically in an effort to appeal to liberal or lukewarm readers. Bergsma and Pitre have written a wonderful tome for those of us who know that the New Testament is hidden in the Old and the Old Testament is revealed in the New. This book will greatly assist in your efforts, just have your Bible next to you to compare and learn."
"I can imagine this being the textbook for first year scripture study in seminary. I feel like every Catholic should have this in their library."
"I bought this to have a more in depth understanding of the Bible In A Year podcast. This is a wonderful tool for a more in depth explanation of the Old Testament written to be read along with the Bible, not instead."
"Wow! I am amazed by the sheer volume of interesting information that is contained in this book. A great resource to enhance my participation in our Bible Study Group."
"It's a great reference book for the old testament. I use it to support the material I use as a catechist of 6th graders."
"I love this book! It provides insights into the Old Testament that have deepened my appreciation and faith."
