This wonderful nightlight is an example of a lost art form originating in the mid-19th Century known as the lithophane. After a finely detailed wax mold is expertly carved, porcelain is poured in carefully, and fired painstakingly to make the lithophane. Light refracted through varying thickness in the porcelain achieves an evocative and lovely artistic image. When backlit by a bulb, the work of art becomes a distinctive way to lend a soft, warm glow to your sacred spaces. Made by a self-taught artisan in the USA with over thirty years of experience, this night light features the traditional Guardian Angel image, with an on-off switch below the lithophane. Plugs into a standard outlet. Night light bulb included. Perfect for your child's room or hallway, to help them feel safe as their Angel lights the way.
