Not the best Catholic children's bible

"This is not the best Catholic children's bible. (The best is the New Catholic Picture Bible by Fr. Lovasik. ) The writing is ok, but I didn't like some of it. Some of the pictures are not as modest as they should be. It takes too much liberty in telling the bible stories, and it dumbs them down too much that sometimes important details change. Some glaring defects include: The story of the Last Supper says they ate lamb; whereas there is no mention of that in the actual Gospels, because Jesus is the Lamb who gives them his Body. Also for the story of the Last Supper, it says that Christians do what Jesus did as (merely) a sign of his love (no mention of the Eucharist). I do not recommend this children's bible. -Fr. Nick V."

"I recently purchased this bible along with the Catholic Bible for Children. My daughter gets a little scared with the way some of the scripture stories are portrayed in this version probably more appropriate for older children but still is a great way to discuss the gospel stories it contains."
