Memento Mori An Advent Companion
"I give 4 stars because the readings did not keep up with current readings this year. Otherwise, I liked it because it got me to thinking about the Examination at the end of the day more deeply than I already do."

"I am going to start my momento more starting in advent"
"Wow, you can use this annually year after year to bring you to a deeper place with Jesus. I’m so glad we got this book learning quite a bit never thought of before and I’ve been a seeker for 58 years and finally ended up being Catholic 12 years ago."
"Great way to really get into the true meaning of Christmas. Kept me focused on my Savior and not the world's idea of Christmas"
"In preparing for Advent this year, I decided to try a companion piece. Being new to this practice, I did some research and was drawn to the Memento Mori Advent. It is a beautiful book full of wonderful artistic renderings and saintly writings. It guides you through an examen leading to deep contemplation and meditation. I look forward to reading it every day. However, as I finished with the third Friday of Advent, it took a while to fully understand the reference on the bottom of page (105). In order to keep with the current liturgical calendar, the book changes from the days of the week to actual dates. At this point, you are required to do a bit of page marking. As this review is being written in December 2024, there are several pages which are omitted for this season. The third Saturday in Advent jumps to pages 133-135. You turn back to page 108 which is explains the final of the Last Things. This leads you into the fourth Sunday of Advent (pages 113-115). To read the reflections for the fourth Monday of Advent, you turn to page 141, the date being December 23. The reflections follow the dates at this point which bring you to Christmas morning. There is no mention of this in any other part of the Advent companion other than page 105. This is the only reason I gave the Memento Mori Advent companion 4 stars. A better explanation of the last week of Advent would greatly benefit someone new to using companions. Otherwise, it is a lovely book that I would recommend."
"I bought this copy of ""Memento Mori: an Advent companion"" but in the wrapping paper and gifts, that copy was lost. This spiritual aid to use during Advent is so important, for it becomes a spiritual part of your prayer during Advent. Having the scriptures, focusing on the last things, and the contemplative examen daily brings the season of Advent to the soul. Impressive & striking artwork enhances the beauty of our faith. Perfect for gifts & to buy an extra copy, just in case your copy gets lost."
"I'm looking forward to using this book during Advent. All life has a beginning and an ending. That's the way it works. Memento Mori is a way to appreciate that but also to understand that death isn't truly where we end. It's the beginning of life everlasting."
"This devotional by Sr. Theresa Aletheia Noble has become my go-to devotional for the Advent and Lenten seasons. For the Advent season, she takes somewhat of an unusual approach by focusing on the Last Things, but this is very fitting given that we are all waiting for His second Advent, whether it be at the hour of our death or at the end of time. Her reflections on the readings for the day, reflections from a saint, and questions have helped me to grow in my relationship with Our Lord and to prepare myself to meet Him whenever He wills."
