Would the medal be damaged if left on in the shower.
Thank you for your question. This medal comes in sterling silver and 18 KT gold over sterling. Sterling will tarnish naturally with exposure to moisture like the shower, sweat, chlorine, and other chemicals such as body lotion, sunscreens, etc. It can be cleaned and the tarnish removed with a polishing cloth made to clean sterling. Gold over sterling features a layer of 18 KT gold that can be kept pristine and in tact if it is not exposed to those same conditions. Moisture and chemicals in lotions and perfumes will degrade the gold layer over time and with increased exposure. So it's best to remove your jewelry for the shower, and store it in a dry place (not your bathroom where it can be exposed to moisture). It's also better to put it on after applying lotions or sunscreens, when they have fully dried, and to try not to expose your jewelry to moisture.

Is there any way this could be made with a gold chain?
Thanks for reaching out! The piece offers the medal in 18 KT gold over sterling silver, but the chain itself is sterling silver. There isn’t an option for a solid gold chain with this item.
