Preparing for Eternity – A Catholic Reflection on Death, Judgment, and the Second Coming

In this profound and timely work, Preparing for Eternity, Georges Chevrot explores how the early Christians lived with a deep awareness of Christ’s return and final judgment, and how that same mindset is urgently needed today.

The first believers took seriously the reality of eternal life—either in union with God or eternal separation—and shaped their lives in light of this truth. Chevrot reveals how the sacraments, liturgy, and teachings of the Catholic Church are the means by which we, too, can faithfully prepare for our own end and the second coming of Christ.

Through rich spiritual insight, he discusses:

  • Confession as the sacrament of forgiveness and renewal
  • Living the Beatitudes to grow in virtue and lessen temporal punishment
  • Charity as the expression of divine love through our relationships
  • What awaits us after death and at the final judgment

A powerful guide for Catholics seeking to live with eternal purpose, Preparing for Eternity is both a challenge and a comfort, calling us to deeper conversion and hope in Christ’s return.
