Bold and faithful, these bright socks in blue, purple and white honor the first Native American canonized saint, St. Kateri Tekakwitha. She was the daughter of a Mohawk chief of the Turtle Clan who lost her entire family to the smallpox epidemic and was adopted by her uncle. Known as the Lily of the Mohawks, Kateri converted to Catholicism, at age 19, taking a vow of chastity. She then traveled south of Montreal to join a Christian native community and live out her mission of charity and prayer. The soles of the socks read her quote, "I am not my own."
