Not only was Pope St. John Paul II a member of Mary's Secular Carmelite Order, but he was wholly devoted to her as his Mother & Queen. He lost his own mother at  the tender age of 9, and devoted his papacy and his life to Mary, taking as his papal motto "Totus Tuus," or "Totally Yours."
