As Catholics we value all human life and consider it sacred. We believe that every person is a child of God and an immortal soul, created by our Heavenly Father who speaks each of us into being.
To be pro-life is much more than to be anti-abortion. It is to recognize the inherent dignity of every human being: unborn babes in the womb, infants already in the world, the elderly, those with special needs, you, me, and the rest of the souls born into the world because of the deliberate thought of God.
This year, the Respect Life ministry of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), has invited the Faithful to pray a special Novena for Life. It begins on May 22 and ends May 30 on the vigil of the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to her cousin, Elizabeth.
Praying the Novena honors God's gift of life in all forms. Our individual prayer can change hearts and bring graces to bear at this important time for our nation and our world. Will you join us in praying communally, in response to what we see happening in our culture, and in thanksgiving for the incredible gift of life?
.............
generosity of our Lord, who created each of us, as a unique and unrepeatable alleluia?
God, our Father, loves each of us from before we were conceived, and He entrusts our earthly protection to our parents and others in the world who value all of human life.
