This lovely plaque is made in the ancient Florentine tradition. Using European poplar wood, the artist decoupages the image, and then uses pure gold leaf to accent the work. The graceful plaque features the Holy Family in an intimate moment together. The oval image is serenely but regally colored, and framed with an intricately carved rope border. The outer portion is lightly varnished in ivory. Outside of the image, the plaque is gold leaf with acanthus detailing in the four corners. The edges are beveled with roped accents. Timeless appeal and elegant quality make this piece a special gift. Made in Italy.
