This striking rosary has been designed to encourage prayer for the souls in Purgatory, inspired by a mystical vision of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich in which she saw suffering souls move from dark to light as she prayed fervently for them. Signifying the purification of the souls of the faithful departed, who are very dear to God, the colors of the rosary beads lighten from black to grey to white. The crucifix is very unique: it depicts Jesus on the cross with the Blessed Mother at His side, holding up a chalice to receive His precious blood. The centerpiece has an image of Our Lady on one side and the Divine Mercy on the other. This rosary is a beautiful reminder to pray for the Holy Souls, a great work of mercy encouraged by the Catholic Church. The month of November is especially given to prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, and their feast is November 2nd.

    Beautiful but short-lived

    I've had this rosary for over a year, and while it is a beautiful design, I wish it had been made with higher quality beads. The beads are coated plastic, I think. They look great at first, but the coating flakes off. This isn't so noticeable on the white beads, but the darker ones get pretty rough looking after a couple months of regular use. I love the idea, and I have kept it with plans to replace the beads, but don't expect it to look as pictured for long.

    Holy Souls in Purgatory Rosary

    The Rosary is beautiful! It is well made and is everything I thought it would be. I love the Divine Mercy and Blessed Mother on the medal in the center of the rosary.

    Connection to the Souls in Purgatory

    I originally purchased this rosary for the person who introduced me to Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, but was unaware of this rosary. It came as a surprise and was gratefully received. I then bought one for myself and find that the visual of changing from black to white beads aids in my praying for the souls in purgatory and makes it more meaningful for me. Am very glad to have found this rosary on your site.

    My favorite Rosary

    This is my favorite Rosary: it's unusual, lightweight and I absolutely love the concept of the souls moving from dark to light as represented by the beads. The crucifix with Mary collecting the Precious Blood in a chalice is very unique. The only reason I knocked off one star is that the sheen of the beads wears off (hence why I'm on my second one). Maybe the beads could be protected better with caps, which would be so pretty. Otherwise this is a beautiful and very meaningful Rosary.

    Holy souls rosary

    These are very nice for the price. Sturdy and quite attractive. I ordered them to have rosary parties and they are perfect for that. Nice for men or women.

    Rosary

    This rosary is very special and reminds us of those who have died and need our prayers. The beads from dark to light are a wonderful reminder of purification.
