Mary appeared to St. Catherine Laboure in a Paris Chapel on November 27, 1830, bringing her the gift of the Miraculous Medal design. Mary requested the devotion spread around the world to teach about her Immaculate Conception. The apparition is recorded her in the form of a lovely, hand painted platter.

This platter is designed to mimic blue and white vintage dinnerware known as chintzware and transferware, on which patterns are applied by transferring them from a copper plate, to paper, to ceramics. It reveals Mary in all her beauty with St. Catherine.
